Recently after every drive when I tried to restart when engine was still hot my 512TR refused to restart and I needed to try 3-4 times before she turned over. Never used to be and this is annoying as when I stop for gas and I had to try 3-4 times before she came alive.

The first time it happened she was very cold as not being driven for 2 weeks and it is a regular occurance.

    What's wrong with her?

mine had the same problem, when the starter gets hot due to engine heat it kinda gets too hot for the starter to werk, we had a relay fitted to ensure enuf power gets to the starter, if it gets too hot (engine Heat) it overloads the electric cables to the starter.

Does your starter "click" without turning, or is there no "click" at all??

If it clicks without turning, it's almost always just a dirty solenoid problem, and easily fixable.

The cause of the "not even clicking" problem is more likely to be a voltage drop to the trigger wire (white), usually from bad connections in the fuse or relay board.

Relays used on the starter to jump power across are a reasonably good fix... but it's fixing the symptom, not the cause.

I've removed several starter relays and repaired wiring/connections back to "as factory". I just prefer to see them that way. Extra relays are ugly..esp on a TR/BB/M where it's in your face.

Often, the problem is related to an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser unit beginning to fail.
