Just got back in the from the Hummer dealer... I guess mine was in pretty bad shape when left to rot in the back of my parent's home. I will be hiking tomorrow and if I wasn't, rain is in the forecast. Perhaps Sunday we can take a trip towards Wrigley and see this hidden spaceship that is supposed to be lurking around. I will give you a call.

I went hiking a couple of times but all the walking kinda bummed me out.
Shoot me a call this weekend and let me know what is up.

Anyway, I gotta dust off the car and spin it around the block a few times today. Maybe I will run into Dr. T in his challenge car. He is out and about in his 348 fairly often.

    Thanks.

Yes, I got in a nice, therapeutic Drive yesterday. Then, got in two more today. One this Morning, and one this Afternoon. Felt great!!!! But, it's looking like the rest of the week is supposed to be colder and rainy. Oh well....got in a few Drives anyway. Just enough to hold me over until it breaks into full blown Spring....:)

Hopefully next Saturday will be nice. If it is, I'll bring out the Ferrari.

Spike. When you are out this way. Have you ever tried Carm's Beef on Wolf Rd.., about 1/2 mile or so South of Roosevelt Rd., from where that Cemetary is. Fantastic Beef sandwiches there. Best I ever had. And if you go West on Roosevelt Rd. about 1/2 Mile. There's County Inn Pizza. (carry out only) best Pizza around, IMO....:)

Yeah, that Cemetary is really creepy....besides hosting Big Al, his Parents, and a couple other relatives. They have alot of those old Concrete, Marble, or Granite personal family Mausoleums there. There are some spots where it looks like a little city, (Yeah, a Necropolis....:( ) With several of them all in a row on both sides of the road. It would make a great place to film a Horror movie, for sure.

The car is looking fantastic Frank. Did you just spend some time cleaning her up? As for your drive and visit, my references to you being all slick Italian mobster looking can not be doubted with such photos. Looking forward to seeing more but with pics of pin stripe suits and Vaudeville gal companions.

Thanks, David. To be honest with you. No, I didn't do a thing to the car. I just pulled the Car cover off and went driving. I did wax her up really good prior to Winter and putting the cover on, though. But if you saw it up close, you'd see some dust and stuff that will need to be cleaned then rewaxed over once the weather breaks.

Yeah, Big Al's area is all muddy. The grass is all worn down from so many people going over there all of the time. Usually, there are coins dropped on his headstone. But, not that day. His Mother and Father are buried right next to him. Along with a couple of other "Capones". And, they purposely don't trim those bushes that straddle the big "Capone" monument. So that it's not so obvious. But, once you know where it is. You can see where the site is right from Roosevelt Rd. as you pass by.

Hey, if someone wants to do an "Al Capone Drive" sometime. We can start out there. Then drive around through the Cook County Forest Preserves, around Willow Springs (Just a little drive South on Wolf Rd. from the Cemetary) Where there are some other old gangster hideouts. Then, drive out to "Al Capone's Hideout" Restaraunt out in St.Charles for Lunch or Dinner. It is a really neat place. It actually was one of Capones many hideouts from "back in the day". It is along the Fox River, (For a quick getaway by boat, if ever needed....) And, when you go there. You have to follow these really small, old wooden Arrow signs that take you through a winding drive through a wooded area, before you finally arrive at the "Hideout". Which is a really cool, big old House. Now transformed into a "cozy" Restaraunt. (You'll see why I picked the word "Cozy" if you go there.)

Once inside, there are all sorts of old Al Capone, and old ganster memorabilia. Of course, there is a gift shop with everything from T-Shirts, Shot Glasses, Cigars, Ashtrays, Etc....And the Food is really good. Mostly an array of big ol' Steaks. But, I have had their Ribs too, and they were pretty good.
