For sale is my beautiful 1989 Ferrari Mondial t convertible. VIN: ZFFFC33AXK0082458 This beauty is in the classic combination of Rosso Corsa on tan leather interior and has only 25,624 original miles. I have owned the car for 2 years and have put 1,500 trouble free miles on it. Over these 2 years, I have invested considerable time and finances (approximately $25,000) to make it quite a nice car. The exterior of the car is quite beautiful. The paint is all original and I would rate it an 8.5 out of 10. All 4 rims are in excellent condition and have no curb rash. They sport 4 new Bridgestone Potenzas that were placed in the Spring of 2015. The convertible top works well however there is a small tear about the size of a nickel (that has been repaired). It opens and closes as it should. Both B-pillars are perfect as they have been replaced with Ron Frohock ones. The tan leather tonneau cover is also in excellent condition and all the broken snaps have been replaced. I have replaced the side vent grills with original diecast pieces hence no broken teeth. The interior is all original and I would rate it an 8.5/9.0 out of 10. I have purchased a set of floor mats from Westwind Trading and they really dress up the interior. A Ron Frohock center vent kit is installed and now cold air blows where it should. All four windows work well and are quite strong. Most of the electronic components work with the exception of the trunk release and side mirror controls. Being an 89 means that it does not have the seatbelt mice! Mechanically the car is very well sorted. The engine runs strong and restarts with no issues. The shifting is impeccable as of this year when the transmission was dropped and a broken denton spring was replaced. The car brakes well and has no pulls. There is some weeping around the cam seal that my mechanic says to address at the next major service as it does not pose an immediate issue, nor does it lose oil. The clutch was replaced in May 2014. The A/C blows cold and the heat works, however, the fan speed works only on high speed. This has not been a concern for me, but it can be addressed by the new owner. Overall, the car is an excellent example of a 1989 Mondial t that has been well cared for and has not been modified or molested. It can be enjoyed as a very nice driver or the new owner may choose to continue to address small things here and there to make it perfect. The last major service was done in December 2013 so it is due for one now or in 2 years depending on if you believe in the 3 or 5-year rule (my mechanic says 5). The car comes with the original books, tool roll, tool kit, most service records and a Spider cover. A pre-purchase inspection can be arranged at Rock’s Auto or a service center of your choice. The asking price is $46,900 US. Please inquire at [email protected]. What a beautiful well sorted car. This is going to be a steel for someone. And the price is very reasonable, I think too low based on what your car represents. If I didn't already have one I woud buy it in a second. I sort of get the feeling that this will be the car that you wish you never sold! It's perfect!
Thanks Ron. I think you may be right on that. At any rate, if it goes to a good home, I'd be happy for someone else to enjoy it.
Addendum: Tried to edit the listing, but unable to. If I were the new owner of this car, I would do the following: 1. Steering rack bushing or rebuild (makes a clunk sound - not unsafe, but more of an annoyance) 2. Remove driver and passenger seats to tighten mechanism - there is 1/2" of play in the seats when you lean back. Mondial seats are notorious for this.
I had a Mondial t for a few years. Loved it. Went well and looked cool. Same combination of tan and Rosso Corsa. Very nice. Used to put two of my kids in the back seat. When we arrived their circulation had stopped and they couldn't walk. Ha ha! Perfect family car! Good luck with your sale.
Totally agree w/ Ron. My car is almost identical except one year newer and more miles. Similar condition w/ major about 18 mos. ago. If I were to sell it would probably ask $49.9k. But no plans to do so any time soon. Good luck!
Nice car you have... Fan speed only at maximum ; Means the fuse beside the turning knob has failed. You can reach this taking out the front ash tray. Guido
Hi, Bruno, when taking out ashtray and money tray, that panel with buttons you can lift...so is my mondial QV, for t you have to puzzle a bit. If you have a ashtray in the back, take it out also, so the whole panel lifts. That fuse is placed against that fan speed knob and it is a glas type (for my QV). Guido
