I am talking myself into purchasing a 550 / 575 What colour have you / would you buy a 550 / 575 in ? What colour interior ? [ This post would have been nice to do as a poll, but we will just have to count on our fingers and toes instead ] Q
If i was looking for one, i would get it in rosso corsa with tan interior. or a dark blue with tan. and my third choice would be silver with gray.
Agreed, Rosso Corsa/tan or TDF Blue/tan. Titainium looks nice with black as well, hell Nero/tan is too.
Of course, color preferences are highly subjective, but keep in mind that based on anecdotal evidence, Rosso Corsa and Yellow are two of the hardest cars to resell for the 550/575, not for other models. Personally, I'd go with Black, Silver, Titanium or TDF Blue. Stunning colors IMO! Black/black...what can you say? Grigio Ingrid/Cuoio...Was told by many that it was the most beautiful car they had ever seen Titanium/black...wouldn't do it again. DL Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Black on Black is my vote Darth Grigo Ingrid is such an awesome color but black on black is better. Cant you have both?
If you don't know what color you want, I suppose that the question is meant to probe appeal/resale value ? Color preferences can vary a lot by region, so I am not sure that US or EU tastes apply down under. US combos tend to be a lot more "in your face" than european ones, no clue about what floats Aussie boats, furtherless yours. Around here, the safest bets are sober colors which render the curves of the Maranello well. I'd forget black on this car, it flattens everything. Titanium or TDF/Pozzi/Nart good choices in that respect. Argento Nürburgring a bit bland. Ingrid seems way too special (and girly) to be a safe bet. Same for Burgundy, Verde or Azzuro, very personal and polarizing choices. Yellow or red to be avoided by all means if you want to resell the car. As for interior, I'd go for a classy and conservative contrast. Titanium/black was my #1 but I settled but Titanium/Sabbia and never looked back (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2807). The other thing with black Ferrari leathers is that they look like ruins unless maintained to perfection, lighter colors wear better with real world maintenance. Brown or tan look awful on Titanium, but they can be good choices for black or some of the blues. Bordeaux a classic with Argento but already edgy. Red leathers very ... personal too.
.. then I suggest probing the mates in the Australia section, I would not expect the yanks or the old europeans to be a valid sample for your local market.
Grigio Titan with black interior is my choice. Looks stunning, and has a good resale value. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Maybe yellow, but sure as hell not red....most of the Maranellos I see around here are red! It looks great in red!
I just picked up a TDF/tan. The badges will really pick up the interior too on that combo. Classy and elegant, but still looks sporty as well.
Red, in the UK at least, is a very difficult colour to sell for a 550. The 550 is inherrently the thinking man's Ferrari, from what all the official dealers tell me, they would underprice a Red 550 if I was to bring it in for resale.
Why not? Is the color combo in general, or the specific car with the color combo? I had a Titanium/DarkGrey and it looked great. - Tim
It is the car/color. I think that if/when I get another titanium F car, the interior will be Cuoio. DL
As noted by others here, the term resale red does not apply to the 550/575. It is a very hard colour to sell in Australia on the second hand market. On the other hand Nero appears to command a premium.
Well that's subjective, here on Long Island red is a popular color. Like I have said, of the say 5 Maranellos I see locally, 3 are red, 1 is blue and 1 is silver. And IMO the red with tan looks the best.
Well, it just happens that the question was originally asked by a citizen who happens to live in Australia, not in big apple or elsewhere in the states. But it's informative to know that New Yorkers have such poor taste ;-)
I am in the market now as both buyer and seller, so have a pretty good feel for it IMO. There are a lot of 550/575's bought resale red new, they are, however, the hardest to move.
