I kept vacillating between 550 and 575 one piece OEM wheels for my 456. So ended up buying both sets new.

Read on various threads 575 one piece OEM wheel weighs less than 550 version without any specifics so decided to find out for myself.

I list below average results from weighing 2 wheels using commercial grade digital scale (not bathroom scale). I also show the plus minus variance of actual weight vs the average weight.

    550 front 10.850kg ± 0.036kg
    550 rear 12.124kg ± 0.080kg
    575 front 11.935kg ± 0.029kg
    575 rear. 13.273kg ± 0.001kg

So it seems 575 actually weighs about 1.1kg more than 550 per wheel.

    Taz,

Thanks for the heads up. I bought my 550 brand new set from fellow FChatter mathewr.

Assumed they are aluminum not magnesium recalled ones. :D

    Regards,
    Wayne

Wayne- Would not be the first time Ferrari pulled the wool over our eyes. Sure looks like there is more aluminum in the 575M wheels.
