I am planning in hard-wiring a V1 into the ceiling lights wiring box on my 575M. Does anyone have experience how to pop the panel out, and which wires to use?

It was easy to do on my TR and X5, but I am afraid of cracking the plastic on this one.

Check around before doing this, last I heard someone else did that and found the dome light not switched to ignition. That leaves radar on all the time and runs the battery dead. Just make sure its wired to a switched electrical source before you start.

If you wire up there, it will be on always. I leave it on overnight w/o a problem, but if i know i'll be gone i turn it off.

Assuming it is a post-99 550, or a 575, it is a CAN car. That means you will not be able to use the grounding from the lights in there, so drill a small hole in the metal plate above, shave the paint off, and ground like that.

To get the panel off, just insert a small flat screwdriver ni the little two rectangular holes in the white part of the plastic, then un-screw the 3 black screws holding the panel up.
