550 air con compressor

    Hi,
    The air con compressor on my 1997 'UK' 550 has a leak. I've been told that it is a GM Harrison V5 (can't see the part no. without taking it out) as fitted to some Vauxhalls - does anyone please know the Vauxhall part number so that I don't have to buy a Ferrari part ?

    Before you dive into the deep end, make sure that you don't have a hose leak. This is a problem on Maranellos and the problem is that the offending hoses are buried deep under the dash. Just loading the system with that yellow dye and checking the hose under the dash is not good enough. You have to pull the entire dash. Don't ask me how I know this. Good luck.

    To add, I had a problem with the hoses under the car at the compressor. They are routed under the cross member so a good bottoming out can cause a leak (or a hose blowing as was the case with mine)
