    Anyone rememebr which magazine did a write up on taking a 550 to the Texas Speedway straight from a Ferrari dealers showroom (Ferrari of Houston or Dallas I think) ?

    I seem to remember they went and borrowed a 550 off the showroom floor and went to the banked speedway with a couple of racing drivers and just lapped the speedway fro an hour to get the highest average speed for a production car (197mph from memory)

    It was in all the yanky crap mags. Ferrari then released a 550 "world record" model to capitilise on the whole thing. It was a 550 with sports seats, the Fiorano pack and a badge from memory.

    Almost certainly. I would have the issue somewhere; but I haven't got around to packing up that part of the library yet.
