can't say enough about the big brake kit, no fade, consistent stopping all day at the track.

i come from the jap import culture and do not recognize these terms:
    FHP, BMC, X-ost

i think one of them is a suspension upgrade, but i cannot decipher the others.

FHP = Fiorano Handling Package; a suspension option found on very few 550, but reproduced by some owners by handing the Ferrari parts department your credit card.
BMC = BMC Air Filter http://www.bmcairfilters.com/
    X-OST = Aftermarket exhaust http://www.x-ost.com/azienda_eng.asp

    thank you, nerd, for that.

pardon my lack of knowledge, as i am still learning. if i may ask some additional queries:

--is the BMC in question a "CAI" type --cold air intake (conical like an AEM filter)?
--the X-OST appears like an exotic-car version of a catback system, often including the downpipe.
--does FHP lower the Ferrari as part of the improved handling? does it include beefier anti-sway bars, links, tie/tension rods? how complete is it?
--this may be a dumb question, but are factory coilovers available from Ferrari as part of any dealer option upgrade kit?

this is interesting to me because it's the first time in a Ferrari thread that i've encountered modification lingo to this extent, ie, tuner talk.

i am open to learning so i will only listen, absorbing what i can with questions only.

    1. BMC is a conical or dual-conical. Check out their web site.
    2. I've never looked at the X-OST, but most systems for modern Ferrari are catback (with or without cross pipes).
    3. Good question on FHP ride height (don't know the answer), but from an old posting the factory FHP bits included:

    The official list from FNA:
    x2 175886 Front springs
    x2 175887 Rear Springs
    x1 175890 Rear Sway bar
x2 130533 Rear sway bar bushings
    x1 175949 Susp. ECU
    X1 175891 ECU Relay
    x1 70000952 Front (squeaky) Pads
    x1 70000953 Rear Pads

    Interior parts--
    x1 165483 Shift Knob
x2 65599700 Kick Plate Alum. Ferrari
x1 65596800 LH Carbon Kick Plate
x1 65596700 RH Carbon Kick Plate
x1 185850 or 177409 Inst. Cluster in Carbon
X1 177410 Small Center 3 gauges Cluster, in Carbon
X1 65646300 Center Console, with a Sony Deck
    X1 65969200 " " " " Becker Deck
X1 65599300 LH Door pocket in carbon
X1 65599500 RH door Pocket in carbon

    4. I believe all modern Ferrari are coil-over.

It certainly looks lower than mine; very visible on the rear arches.

Wow, Nerd. lot of info there! The 550 has ride height adjustable suspension standard. I added FHP springs which brings it down a little, and then adjusted further. The FHP package also includes bigger sway bars, and an ECU that changes the shock actuator settings, and another ECU that changes the power steering settings.
    As for the exhaust,

The X-ost is a cat back system.
I also added Hyper Flow cats...less weight and 20 percent better flow, WITHOUT triggering the 02 sensors!
removed the center resonator and replaced with an x-pipe, which not only sounds great, but has a siamese connection to increase gas scavenging.

My 360 F1 Spider (not pictured*) was ahead of both of you posers.

*Not pictured because nobody had a camera at the track that could capture an object moving at such a high velocity. :D

Here is a picture of the 360 at rest of course, otherwise you couldn't see it.
