Anybody know of a Barchetta for sale. Must have handling package. Color combo and mileage less important. In fact a higher mileage car that was daily driven is preferred. Kindly PM me if anybody interested in selling their baby. Thank you.

Stephen- If I were you I would not limit myself to FHP Barchettas. She does not really need it. Most 550s do not have FHP and handle fine. A lot of rich guys checked the block when they had no clue what the differences would be.

    Taz,

I'm used to a tad firmer/sharper ride as my DD is a 458. I appreciate what you are saying and will keep my options open. I just LOVE the look of the 550B. IMHO its a modern day Daytona Spider.

Per my contacts at the factory:

550 BPF chassis was designed to be optimized WITH the FHP.

I would say drive the 550 without before you decide. I thought that too. My standard 550 is as stiff ( but more compliant) than my CLK 63 Black Series or Ruf RGT. If you are looking for stiffer than that, my opinion is keep it for track work.

CW- Baloney, or FHP would have been standard since this was the most expensive Ferrari by far in 2001 and adding FHP as standard would have cost Ferrari little and raised more money. It was optional, just like it was on the 550. Or are you suggesting the Barchetta chassis and body were stiffer than the 550? We know that is not true.

Well, then you should take it up with my factory contacts at the time.

I am merely reporting what I was told back when we spec'd ours out.

I'm not interested in doing an auction (RM or otherwise). Ferrari Pete please have your friend email me at [email protected] if he is interested in selling. I really don't have a budget other than to say in the past year or so "weak" examples have sold for $150K-175K range while I know Ferrari LI had a 200 mile classic certified example (basically still in wrappers) that went for around $275K. As I said I'm looking for a driver and if she has miles on her and has been properly maintained I'm good with that as my PP will be much more reasonable. There are just way to many variables and intangibles to discuss online. So if your buddy is interested in selling I am an all cash buyer and ready to purchase. Thanks for the assistance.

That's a row of exotics dealers along SH59, ending at FoH, actually....interesting thy had the car, though.

Can we figure out with the Houston crew who's car?

Come to think of it, I might have seen it at Mark's place as it transferred ownership.

Only ones I have seen below $200K were "non red" examples.

$275 sounds crazy though, the one (low miles also) in Hollywood was a $225K "ask".

I just sold my Barchetta 3 weeks ago.....not that it was for sale, but I did get a very strong number for it and that is what made me decide to sell it. It was a driver....7050 miles since taking ownership with only 2900 miles and I sold it in the high $200's

    IIRC, most B's had FHP.

I had it on one of my Ms and it was noticably better, albeit the squeaky brakes were annoying at times.
