550 Barchetta Pininfarina helmet

Price?

 

Two of them came with each Barchetta, but they soon disappeared into the original owners' closets.

 

Is this a pair?

 

Just like the blu scuro Connolly leather luggage set that was ordered for my 550...

Yes it does, Terry. But I bought a car, not a trousseau so it doesn't matter much to me. I bet the luggage looked good in dark blue leather though.

No helmets came with the 550 coupe but I do have this Bell HP7 helmet for use with my digital UHF radio-equipped F355 Challenge. When there's no drama like a flat tire or a failing alternator, I can radio in my order for lunch.

Barry- Affirmative, luggage is just something else to store somewhere.

 

Those blue luggage bags might be the only one in this world. Never seen or heared about a Blu Scuro set like that... Here is a helmet I found in Italy which looked pretty good. White with red, green and white leather stripes! With a black visor sliding into the helmet. Looked like they were a proper helmet approved for scooter driving on public roads etc.

yes they are rare....... as was posted they came with the 550 Barchetta but only the European cars got them the USA cars came with caps that look very much like them ... I have a set of each .. which are not for sale but very cool

 

I remember a few years back when Larry called me to ask if we could refinish one as it was sticky

 

thats right I forgot about that .. I ended up selling that one and getting a none sticky one I placed the add on Ferrari chat and I ended up with several .. but now have 2 good ones....did you ever try redoing one?

not surprised .. but only Ferrari would have a helmet that has a coating....that turns sticky.. I guess to match the interiors...

I have the original pair of helmets as well as the luggage set.. also sadly stored in the cupboard for years and frankly forgotten about until a friend bought a Barachetta and I remembered them. Another friend is interested in the helmets and I would like to give him a fair price. Since they are too rare to find a benchmark I would be very grateful for input. Thanks!

 

I kind of forget what I paid for the helmets .. want to say around 1000each or 1500 for the pair...the luggage set I also bought from someone on Fchat but I forget what I paid...maybe 4500 for black barchetta luggage....
At one time I had two sets of helmets and hats and luggage...kept the best sold the rest.....

 

For the sake of conversation, only other car I can think of that came or could come with a helmet with a new car (2000-2010) was the 430 Scuderia. Pretty cool in person. Not sure how many floating out there, but would think very rare

And 430 Scuderia is a great car too. One of the older style cars I am currently very interested in.

I am not sure many people actually use the helmets that have come with any of the cars, but they are cool souvenirs.

 

Thats pretty cool was not aware they could be ordered with the car....

 

I actually believe they only came with non USA cars ..in the us we got really cool matching ball caps....
