    Hi Guys,

This weekend was the first time in 5 weeks that I took the car out after having the Tubis installed. (West Coast weather, it has rained almost constantly for 5 weeks and as anal as I am the car has not see rain)

The run was approx 120 K’s and the car does indeed sound so much better the Tubis.
I highly recommend that any one driving a 550 with out them is missing out on the sound if you do not have Tubi’s.

The weather was cold, this is the first time the car has seen cold weather at the freezing temp level. The FCS yellow light came on approx 20 – 25 Ks from home.

Now I have done a search on the FCS warning light and most of the past posts indicate that this light is nothing to be alarmed at but being an F car I wanted to just make sure that other 550 owners felt the same.

Have you experienced cold weather driving with the 550 and how much importance should I give this warning light?

    Thank you,

    Alican

I drive my 550 throughout the winter if the roads are clear and temperature is not below 25 degrees F. I have never experienced any warning lights as a result of the cold.

Never had it cause a problem ever, mostly it just goes away. Can't replicate the symptoms for it to ever show up again, never even stayed on long enough to catch it on the obd2 reader.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. I've had it happen on both 550s to no problem. I remember reading a logical explanation for it (somethign to do with starting the car under certain conditions) but there doesn't seem to be any emperical proof.

Keep on driving... and it won't melt in the rain, I promise.

The fuel cooling system is dependant on the A/C system to work. The most common cause for the FCS light is low freon and freon level is determined by pressure. Freon pressure changes greatly with temperature and in your case the ambient has dropped so low that it is probably indicating a slightly low charge in the system.

I'm assuming these cars use R2 or whatever it's called now?
