Don't know what else it could be? The car is great for a 550 buyer but no one has even looked at it. Price reduced to 125,900. Check the classifieds for details and description.
man-o-shevitz. if i didn't already have a 550 dude, i'd be crawlin' on my belly to buy your car. it's gorgeous. i almost bought yellow - but when i was looking i could only find yellow/tan, which i didn't like much. it looks like a GREAT car - i don't grok the disinterest. what a freakin' stellar deal at $126K. doody.
Nice car! Wow! A gentlemen on www.z06vette.com asked about the 550 . I hope you don't mind I posted a link to your car's ad. Good luck. JB
According to my spreadsheet, the average asking price for a 99 550 is $139,000, with an average mileage of about 12,000. If you assume a 10% difference between gettin and asking, the average "real" price for a 99 550 is $125,000. If you assume a 15% spread, the real price falls to $118,000. So it looks like you are now where you need to be. Have you advertised in the Ferrari Market Letter? Dr "Wanna swap for a 98 Silver Maranello" Tax
I've always been stunned by the low mileages on US cars. 12Kmi on a 5yo car, 2400mi or 3600km/y in average. I took a quick look at classifieds here, but the difference is not huge: I reach an average 4745km/y (N=43) for 550s. The median however is 3671km/y only: a couple of frequent drives, and a mass of sunday-sunshine tourers. For comparison, I looked at 360's, avg is 5410km/y, median 5160km/y (N=48). The "grand" tourers are not the ones you may expect. This sunday morning digression reaching its end, this won't help selling this yellow 550. Maybe you should try Florida or Texas ?
Yellow is a tough sell on a 550 because it's a GT car and most buyers are not as flamboyant as 360 buyers. I wasn't a fan of yellow 550s until I saw LabCar's yellow beast. You just have to see them in person. Unbelievable!
I have to agree, I never considered yellow but saw a yelllow with black car at FoSF recently and it was gorgeous. Yellow piping and stitching really set it off. I still would not personally buy one but they are very striking cars.
JC: I saw prices of modern cars in europe - holy cow are they cheap! And what's amazing, as you say, is how many more miles you find. Good to see people are using the cars. --Dan
I drive my cars . With this one I knew I was selling before it arrived as I just bought the Gallardo on impulse. I already have 4100 miles on the Gallardo in 2 1/2 months.
Wayne, Not saying you didn't. Good on you for driving so much! What I meant was that it seems the relative averages b/w here and across the pond are pretty disparate. Guys like you and I are doing somethign to help it out...but we're in the minority. --Dan
My dad loves your car, but hes looking at 575's right now. But he cant find a yellow 575, you might be in luck buddy.
Understandable...i have seen a few yellow 550's around and they dont do the car justice, it simply looks better in ANY other color.
