    On my 1999 550 I've noticed that if you want to lock the doors once behind the drivers seat the drivers side door lock switch will not lock the pax side, but the pax switch will lock both sides. If I reach across and use the pax switch to lock both doors, when I stop and open the drivers door it unlocks the pax side.
    Is this normal? I'm new to the car.

    nope, should lock both sides
