What would happen if you put two E.U. flashed ECU's in a U.S.A. 550? Same Bosch part number but different Ferrari flash numbers. Anyone have any thoughts?
Dave- Should work fine except possibly for secondary air injection, which is not a big deal. One less thing to fail smog.
Terry, Yeah, I'm wondering about I.M. monitors. Anyone here with a euro 550 have trouble with CA smog tests? I wonder when a euro car comes to the US are the ECU's re-flashed? On a 550, Moronic 5.2. you have to un-solder the eprom from the board to re-flash it, unlike the later Motronics
Does anyone here have a Euro 550 that could read the actual Ferrari part number on one of their ECU's for me? It would really help.
Pic is for the ECU from a 550 with the letter B as the 8th digit in VIN number which means it is a Euro car.
Dave, I owned a euro 550 and still own a USA 550. My old euro was federalized came in from Germany had the Ferrari german vin. It passed cali smog just fine and set drive cycle not quite as fast as my USA 550. I could see no physical difference between the cars except the euro had vestigial foglamps and USA has a blank switch on the instrument panel. The euro also had a side marker in front of the door. The evap system was different in parts but I can't remember exactly. My euro was a 2000 and my USA a 2001
