550 Engine Plenum

    In seeking to better understand the 550 engine, I would appreciate knowing more about the plenum on top. I can see by my schematic that there are butterflys that open as revs increase. What I don't see is where air enters the plenum, assuming it has to be filtered and metered. Thank you for your comments.

    Air comes through the air intake manifolds either side of the plenum. These are fed through the Airbox on either side of the car that contain the filters etc.

    Greg- Go to ferraridatabase.com and download owners manuals and workshop manuals for free. Good diagrams in both that show airflow through the system, including the dual length intake tract that kicks in around 6000 rpm.
