    I have a euro spec 1998 550 that lacks an OBD port. Presumably, the car will be read by SD1. The latter is not available at any shop in my area. I am hoping that the diagnostic connections for either system are fed by the same array of sensors and info, so straight question; has anyone added an OBD port to an SD1 equipped car, either by building an adapter, or wiring straight in? Seems like it could work, if the basic car wiring is the same. I have to imagine that someone has been creative on this point.

    Any insight would help. If you know someone with some experience with this, do let me know who to reach.

    I am aware of the OBD pin recall, so I presume that I would do that work at the same time as an OBD plug install, if the idea has merit.
