I had a similar problem with my 575 about 15 years ago on a cross country road trip. (That was a real PITA). After stopping as several dealers, replacing various components in the gas vapor system, the problem was fixed by replacing the charcoal filter. Hasn't recurred.

Also, my mechanic says that there are breather valves on the gas tank. I personally dont think that is true.

Most EVAP systems have a solenoid valve that can fail also. A problem in the EVAP system will also often throw a check engine light.

Many years ago I had a car that needed a new charcoal filter. They are usually a sealed unit but I cut it open with a dremel and replaced the charcoal with activated aquarium charcoal. Did the trick...

I would guess that it's a pretty sure thing that something is not allowing the EVAP system to flow normally especially with the pressurized tank clue.

FYI , those that try to get every drop of gas in their tank when filling are risking problems with the EVAP. When the pump clicks off don't force more in.

Good advice; I think that's how I trashed my EVAP filter.

Pull back on gas filler hood while fueling works....sometimes a different gas station too.
