AFTER OWNING 2 FERRARI'S IN THE PAST 8 YRS...I JUST SOLD THE 550 I HAVE 2 KIDS GOING TO COLLEGE IN THE NEXT 3 YEARS AND CURRENTLY BUILDING A NEW HOUSE ANYONE ELSE HERE HAVE BEEN IN A POSITION TO HAVE TO SELL FOR YOUR KIDS COLLEGE?? THANKS BRUCE
Bruce...that was a very admirable (and responsible IMHO) thing to do. Sorry to hear that you had to part with the 550 as she was a beauty. I'm sort of in the same boat as you -- had to sell the latest toy a few weeks ago in order to prepare financially for our daughter starting college this fall. Our son will follow, and then will finally have the opportunity to pick up another toy. We also just completed a room addition to the house. In the end, it has been sort of a relief not having to be bothered with throwing payments and insurance at a car that sat in the garage under cover most of the time. Just didn't have time to drive and enjoy it due to business and family obligations. Hope you find another one someday -- sooner the better! Best to you and the family!
Bruce, Loved your car. It is a great euro tdf blue 550, for sure. Sorry it needed to be sold, but it sounds like a good cause. The time to get back into owning a Ferrari is a few (to several) years down the road, as the current down turn starts to reverse itself and pick up some steam. Tough decision, but one you can be proud of.
You did good if the kids can go through college without any or little debt. Make them buy you another one once they are settled after college
Even though it may be bittersweet now, the moment you see your kids graduate, you'll know it was worth it.
It's been tough financing my own education (Well, I might of have a little help from the gov ) But still, every little penny helps. Your kids should be really grateful for what you did. My girlfriend already owes thousands after a couple of years of college.
BROTHER BRUCE - ON A SOMEWHAT RELATED NOTE - I RECALL MY FAVORITE ANCIENT TRACEY ULLMAN SPOT WHERE SHE WAS ALL POOR AND WHATNOT WITH BAMBINO IN TOW AND AS THE ULTIMATE SHORT-TERM THINKER SAID... "I'LL TRADE YA MY TV FOR A PUHTAYTUH"
