Driving home last night I grounded out slightly on a speed bump. When I got home I checked out the underside and noticed a cylindrical piece protruding from the undertray on the right hand side of the car, just forward of the rear wheel. It looks like it's supposed to be there but I've never noticed it before. As I have nothing to compare it too I can't tell if it's been damaged by the speed bump.

Does anyone know what this piece is, or what it's supposed to look like originally. It's only on one side so I'm a little puzzled. BTW it's a 2000 550 Maranello.

Just be sure and check under the car for any trace of a leak. There's an oil line down there that's one of the first things to go if you ground out.

My 550 has some kind of vent tube, appears to be made out of rubber that is on the passenger side of the car a little ahead of the right rear wheel.

After further investigation, it seems to be the overflow drain tube from the filler cap, so won't have been damaged as it's made of rubber.
Many thanks for the replies guys
