My hand brake will release itself due to the worn ratchet teeth as can be seen - Has anyone replaced theirs? Do we have a part number, do we know if it's unique to Ferrari or whether there is an interchangeable part source? So many questions.. thanks!

Unlikely to be remade unfortunately. The 'mechanism' part of the handbrake with the ratchet teeth is part 191634 - used on 456/550/575 and Enzo.

You could look for a used one - complete lever mechanism I would expect, or it's likely that something like 198375 (Mondial and TR) will have the same ratchet part in it. I guess also check the 'pawl' part that goes into the ratchet as well to see what state that is in.

Many thanks gentlemen, this is very helpful. Meanwhile RossoC360 very kindly reached out to say that Dave from Sticky RX has a handbrake assembly that he is happy to send me, but it's from a 355 though Dave thinks the ratchet might be the same; but part 191634 only lists 456,550/575 and Enzo so I'm not so sure.. - can anyone confirm?

It is indeed the same as the complete lever assembly is the same (full arm is PN 154095). What your appreciating is that Ferrari did not offer a separate main gear part for the 355 (aka you had to buy the whole/complete handbrake lever assembly for the 355).

PS Tell Dave Omar says hi

    Hi Jaap,

I think you’re in the UK (like me)? If so Eurospares are breaking a 550 so may well have a used one coming up … drop them a line, they’re super helpful

Those were made for as I remember a recall. They were never intended to be a replacement part and I would not expect to see them made available again.. I happened upon a stash of them a few years ago and bought every one. The replacement part includes a handle if it is still available.
