My 97 550 is being recommissioned. I had decided to redo the dashboard but got pursuaded to do the full interior. I stuck with blue scuro 3282 but decided to go tan on seats and quilter shelf and lower panels 4208. I sourced 7 Autolux hides from UK hides. They are close in colour but my seats were quite cracked and dried and so the new leather is smoother. The thickness appears the same. I found a Poltonfrau sticker under the dash. My car is a 97 and so I was surprised. Trimming shop is now 50pc through the project and is doing an awesome job Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Take a look online at Poltrona Frau. Quite a history. Maybe they're cured the 'shrinking dash' problem!
I am currently based in the middle east and it's a small shop in Dubai. With so many supercars here these guys know them well. I saw a 360 they completed a few weeks back. It was stitch perfect...hence my trusting them to complete this project
A good craftsman is a good craftsman, wherever they are. Are you putting in Daytona inserts on the seats? Beige with dark blue inserts would be very attractive.
I was tempted by Daytona inserts but decided to keep the car simple inside. I was also concerned about getting the correct blue to match the inserts to the other blue leather in the car.
Here's a link to a 'recently sold' Blu Pozzi 550 with beige Daytona inserts where the stripes appear to be have been done in Blu Scuro. 2001 Used Ferrari 550 Maranello at Sports Car Company, Inc. Serving La Jolla, IID 3023153 As you appear to have purchased hides in both colours, you might have found that your trimmer had sufficient Blu Scuro offcuts to make up the contrasting stripes but without a pattern readily to hand, it would have been quite a challenge to re-produce the inserts in either bi-colour or monochrome form, as 635CSI who posts on here made some inquiries with a handful of UK trimmers last year and none of them appeared to be keen to take on the job (albeit on his 575M). Pretty interior. Looked for a similar 575M photo but could not find one. Subtle differences between the 550 and 575M Daytona inserts.
Interesting thread. I am thinking about doing the Daytona inserts on my car and I wonder what the dimentions are and if someone knows how they are put together...? Thanks!
Here is a pic of the 360 they recently completed. Imagine the value added to this as it used to have red seats! This has the daytona inserts I love daytona inserts but didn't want to complicate what is already a very complex job. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some WIP. Note that the seats base is not fully attached to the seat chassis hence the gap between the bolster and base Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Coming along nicely there! P.S. The image of the 360 seats that you posted made me wonder if the Daytona inserts on the 575M and 360M were identical. I cannot tell them apart but I note that they do have different part numbers. e.g. 672832 for the 575M vs. 672592 for the 360M I also found this video showing how one shop in the US reproduces them.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9qtxgX8HdQ
Terry, for comparison purposes I have included a picture of my 575M interior from several years ago. Daytona seats with beige leather and black inserts. Incidentally, the rear shelf is now covered in beige leather as well. It was a nice improvement to the interior look. Rick Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rick- Bradan is doing a rear shelf for me as we speak and they will eventually redo the seats with Daytona inserts, too. Looking at Cuoio with charcoal inserts or charcoal with red inserts. Leaning towards cuoio.
Terry, this is a pic of the interior of a 599 I was considering purchasing a couple of years ago. I'm not certain if the seat colors are charcoal and red or black and red but I do like the look of this color combination especially with the the red stitching on the front engine V12s. To my eye it gives it a sort of a masculine look for a very masculine automobile. Of course I'm also partial to beige with black inserts which is one of the main reasons I purchased my particular car. I've seen a few 599s with cuoio leather and red inserts and that is a great look as well. What pattern are you having the rear shelf made into by Bradan and in what color? Rick- Bradan bought two charcoal hides for me and the shelf will be done in the normal 575M pattern of ovals (rounded rectangles) in red stitching. Like the ones attached. My ultimate goal is to do the center tunnel and rear bulkhead in charcoal with red stitching like these photos. Rear glovebox, too. Terry, the red stitching and red inserts over the charcoal leather is such a great look on these cars. No doubt Bradan will do a 1st class job. I also had the oval pattern installed in my car. By chance do you know if the hides available today, whether thru Bradan or elsewhere, are the same hides used originally in our cars by Ferrari? I was recently told that the leather Ferrari originally used on the 575M dashboards is no longer available and that any replacement leather used to resurface them will be slightly different than the OEM leather. Rick
These interior upgrades are great! Especially when it looks like factory original. I just had the panel around the black mid console panel re-colored at a very good leather specialist who used a spray gun for adding the paint. It looks like brand new! Image Unavailable, Please Login
