Ok... Automobilia's "Ferrari 550 Maranello" states this: "Front and rear tracks: 1632mm/1586mm (64.25 inches/62.44 inches)" Doesn't that read that the front track on the Maranello is wider than the rear...? Does that make any sense...? Can anyone confirm or deny this information and point me to a different source...?
It is correct. The wider front track assists with turn in to corners. Look at the way F1 cars are configured.
Most sports/GT cars are like that including the Enzo. It's where the hub meets the wheel. The rear wheels will usually be larger so you can't "see" any difference. It's for better steering.
