Looking forward to it. This winter looks like I'm starting my search for a 550. And a set of Fabio's exhausts....

The noise is exactly what I'm after for my upcoming 550 project. Fabio's work is superb., I've spoken with him a few times and he's a very nice person as well.

Fabio is an artisan engineer who clearly understands, loves, and is passionate about his work. I've decided to go it slow and start with replacing the center resonator on my 550 with his double H-Pipes. Just want it a little bit louder and to reduce exhaust restriction by the resonator. Fabio cuts and welds like Michael Angelo would if he was sculpting David from stainless steel tubes. At least that's how I see his work. He sends me update pictures of every step like having a custom tailored suit made in Milano. Even without improving the sound and performance, just knowing having that beautiful sculpture down there in place of the resonator makes the reasonable cost worth it to me.

Just a little side discussion here while we talk exhaust sounds... i have been looking at the Murciélago headers just to compare, because I like the sound of Murcies very much. These do not have 6-1 headers, bur more like the ones on our V12 with 4x 3-1 headers. I know Ferrari have a 65 degree V12 and Lambo has a 60 degree one. But why is the sound so different? Only because the engine is in the back of a Murcielago? Could it be possible to make the same sound out of a 550? From my understanding, the Lambo have a catalyzer after the headers and that is about it on most of them. Why does it sound so different? Have anyone tried to just put pipes after the cats? Just asking...

This video is not of the best quality, but you can hear the engine at normal driving speeds and revs, which for me is alot more interesting than how it sounds like in a tunnel at wide open throttle. It is this «musical» aspect of the V12 sound that I like alot. In this video you can really hear it.

Erik, the 550 cats are behind the headers too

The 575 and 599 GTB have the cats included in the headers, the 599 GTB two precats in Addition

Also, the 550 has headers with Same lenght of the 3 tubes from 1 Unit

So the base of the 550 exhaust is not bad

Only the deep noise is the detail that many of us wants to change

As long as there is no resonance, loud V12 is fine with me! The more music-type of sound the better!

Looking very much forward to your videos. Try to make one without going too hard on the throttle aswell «if possible»... Normal driving is just as relevant.

    Ciao from Italy :)

Daniel- The 575M has precats in the headers. The primary cats are behind those. Same for the 599. The 599 GTO eliminated the precats, went to 6-1 headers, and had only primary cats.

Several Ferraris with 3-2 headers sounded pretty good, including my old Daytona, but different designs (3-2-2 and four downpipes) and less restrictive pipes and mufflers.
