Does anyone know how many 550 Maranello that were produced ?
http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23979&highlight=550+production+numbers Anders, Doody has answered your question and provided you with the resource for finding the exact numbers. It may be more productive to not assume that a poster is being a smartalec, as even though we have our share of trolls, in the main, the members here are very friendly and helpful people.
Many thanks, as always, Stephens. I have searched the archives back and forward, but there seems to be very little info about the total numbers. I have also tried the Ferrariowners site, but without result. I even contacted the local dealers, but they don´t know either :-( -and I wrote to Ferrariowners site, but no answer (yet). If I hear something, I will paste it to this forum, so that everyone can have easy access to it. All the best, Anders
Anders, did you follow the link? Doody, a previous 550 owner, has provided the exact production numbers previously in the linked thread.
Gentlemen, Relax, Yes, I followed the link, but the numbers does not match what I have noted from other forums, which are as high as 7-8.000 units (not including he 575). Can anyone provide the VIN number of the first car and the last car?
still doing paperwork now boys..... stephens, you can keep quiet or I'll invoice you for all the fuel and the inlet system you've taken.......
i don't believe the math on 7K to 8K passes the sniff test. that would be about 1500 per year for 550 production. when you compare that to 360 output during the same period (and they were producing 456s too) and compare all that to the total max factory output, it seems quite unlikely. the numbers i've quoted are from Cavallino - though we do know their stats aren't always correct (eg: their published CS numbers are patently wrong). doody.
furthermore, if you look at Testarossa/512TR/F512M annual production during that run the 1500/yr number is a rather steep - and sudden - increase. seems very unlikely. doody.
Doody, I have seen many references to the <4000 number, otherwise 1 in 3 cars sold would have been a V12, something Ferrari would love to see, but never happened and likely to stay that way for some time to come.
Well, not unrealistic, if we calculate with an annual production of 4 to 5.000 cars, and say that about 1.000 were 550´s. From 1996 to 2002, it would then be in the range of 7.000....?
you said your number was 550s only. MAYBE if you include EVERY maranello and derivative you could touch 7K, but i still doubt it. doody.
I asked Ferrari and they e-mail me the production numbers of the 550 were 3,715. 12 cylinders or walk
Well done Bart, thanks for the info. It looks like you are using your Maranello, that´s the way to go ! I will get mine delivered within the next 2 weeks Ciao, Anders
