    are there any years more desirable on the 550? Are there any upgrades post 98 ? My mechanic said all the 550’s are basically the same. Thanks!

    The Scaglietti options became available around the 97/98 timeframe. Late US models have a fuel cooling system, but whether or not that is an advantage or not, I leave to 550 owners. Uses Freon from the AC to cool the fuel because the unused fuel cycles back to the tank after being heated by the engine.

    Compared to 575Ms, which were pretty much continuously upgraded, the US 550s are very similar throughout production except as mentioned.
