    Hello,

i was wondering if replacing the air filters on a 550 would void the power warranty ?
Also, i saw that stephen added wheel spacers to his 550, and they look really cool. Any changes in road-holding afterwards ?
And any warranty issues related ?

    Thanks in advance, Pierre.

Entirely dealer (greed) dependent. My car was a mid 2002 delivery, so just came out of factory warranty last year. Major service was done by an independant (ferrarifixer) and they are still willing to provide power cube warranty. They know about filters, exhaust etc, but seem to have a sensible attitude. Another delaer may take an entirely different stance. Remember the warranty is actually provided by Ferrari, not the dealer, so it is in their best intersests to ensure there are no problems in processing claims.

    Hello,

thanks, i see, so it depends.

And the wheel spaces, did they alter the roadholding ? If so , for the better ?

Some dealers will even look at you with a straight face and tell you that mouting Tubi mufflers voids the warranty. I would not take any chances, unless your dealer agrees to do the job and cover it on under his responsibility. As far as Ferrari CH goes, they will not compromise on anything. It's very unlikely that the air filter would get noticed, but say that something really rare and really unfortunate happens to your engine, I would expect a fair amount of scrutiny.

If your warranty is important to you, I'd wait a few months after it has expired to run such mods and think twice, because you might have to remove your lovely spacers when you present the car at the periodic DMV inspection. This is, for instance, an annoyance you have to live with when you mount Tubis.

Wise counsel. In Australia, thankfully inspections are only done at time of sale.
