I suggest filling in your profile so we can see what you have in order to better assist.

If this is an occasional use car, and you want a lower price point, the 550's are the best deal in Ferrari-land IMO.

Agree with dsd. The 575 is a slightly more refined version of the same car. If you can afford it, and particularly if you want the F1 transmission (575 only), the 575 is the one to go for. The 550, however, is 98% of what the 575 is, and for a whole lot less. Personally I like the lines a little better on the 550. Whatever your opinion, it is a phenomenal bargain at the moment.

JazzyO is absolutely right. However, you may find that since the 575 is newer, it could happen to come up in better physical shape.

Good luck in buying a "king of the road".

Yes there is a huge savings between the two cars. I wanted the F1 transmission which was the deciding factor for myself. I just returned home from running a few errands in mine. Never gets old or routine.

$130k for a 550 is aggressive. As you will find from searching this fine forum, not a lot of difference in an 01 from, say, a 98 or 99. Expect to pay a premium for a later MY but not a 50% premium. When there are a bunch of nice 98-00 550s in the $80-100 range, why pay $130k?
