Is it something I can fix or do I need to take it to a shop? Any ideas. Thanks.

    It's something you can fix.

I had the retaining clip on my 348 break. I took the broken one with me to the dealer and they matched it up to one from an Audi. I think I paid $1 for two of them. That is the cheapest thing I have ever bought from the dealer. Anyway just take appart inner door pannel to see what the problem is.

Does it feel like the handle moves freely? If so then the clip could be your problem. Or, it could be that a part of the actual lever handle has busted off inside, so you may need a new lever. It may be something as simple as the control wire has come loose and just needs to be put back in. What ever the case you can fix it yourself.

The same thing is happening on my 2005 575M!

Once the passenger's door is locked from inside, the driver's door can't be opened. I have it in the shop now and my mechanic (Rifledriver) says it should be a simple fix ... hopefully!

The same thing happend to my 348. The cable from the inner handle to the latch snapped (like a bike brake cable) The dealer here wanted over 600hk with a 4 week wait. I replaced the broken inner cable with stainless wire (free) and it's still fine to this day. 355 and 348 doors are internaly the same I think, so good luck. mike
