What happened to the two Barchettas at Marshall Goldman?
The word 'barchetta' originates with the 1948 166MM, which was an open car with no soft-top. This is the same car that won the 1949 LE Mans 24hrs. 'Barchetta' being Italian for 'little boat'. Very few cars are actually barchettas as most were 'spyders' - e.g Daytona spyder - which was more like a convertible, having a soft-top. Nathan

Most of these Barchettas were built around the same time as the three preproduction 575Ms, 123761, 123764, and 123765.
About 550 Barchetta 12 were built in pre productions or as prototipo 121680 was referenced like the first one. 123764 as the last one.
Christian- 123764 is definitely a 575M. Here is the chassis number from the 575M WSM and a photo of 123764. She was brought up to production standards and sold through a favored Italian dealer after being kept as a test machine. Also used for developing the OM and WSM. s Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I m sorry for mistake 123657 was the last pre productions for the 550 Barchetta. My mistake was to classified the 550 Barchetta #123674 afther the last pre productions...
Looks like somebody put a CF 360 style steering wheel on the Barchetta with the red interior, or were there two different types of steering wheels on Barchettas? Looks like the 360 looking ones are part of the full CF package, possibly. Much better looking than the 550 style steering wheel.
