    Hi Folks,

I'm a Ferrari virgin and have spent the last few weeks raping your archives and trying to leech as much information as possible.

I'm thinking seriously about going for a 550M and, based on my lack of knowledge with all things Ferrari, I've decided to buy from a main dealer - I hope that isn't frowned upon here?

I'll load up the questions as I go along, the archives have answered most of my questions anyway. Meanwhile, can someone tell me the relative value of this car:
    http://www.ferrari.co.uk/frameworks/locator/details.asp?VehicleID=1947

It appears to be on the high end of 550's, but it's a late model, 2001 and the bodywork appears to be in good condition with a FFSH.

I'm normally the kind of person who has a high turnaround of cars, changing them every 6-9 months. I've normally bought with my head so I've not been burnt yet. But this is a Ferrari!

Can anyone project a value of this car now and also in, say, 6 months time. You should consider the 575 and also the forthcoming 600.

    Cheers!

    Cem

Hi Cem, wonder what Sean will think ;)

That's got someway to go in terms of depreciation, why not buy an earlier one with all the depreciation taken out of it @ £60k.

www.verdiferrari.biz have a couple, and they are held in very high regard here. They've had the black one for months, so I suspect they would take low to mid £50s for it...

Expect to lose at least £15-20k in 6-9 months on that car, from a main dealer, mainly because of their margin. I speak with some authority having bought a 355 from MSL and know what the trade-in value is now, less than 1 yr later.

I agree with Noony- buy an older one for around £60-65k, ideally privately.

    Nice car, that one though...

    Robert.
