well, i'ts a euro car and it has nearly 40K miles on it. i recently spoke to this dealer about a car they were selling and they had no paperwork whatsoever on it - maybe this car is records-less as well. who knows. that BIN is low regardless. maybe there's been work done to it, accident, etc. give 'em a holler and find out! no, prices have not fallen that much. doody.
Based on my database, a 1997 550 should retail for between $100,000 to $110,00 with an average of 16,000 miles. An Euro should sell for $10K less. The problem with the Euro cars is that the speedo gets replaced. So who knows how many miles the car really has been driven. The miles are not as important as the condition, i.e., has it had the 30,000 mile timing belt service? Probably not, because for a while there some Ferrari dealers were refusing to handle Euro cars. Given all this, I would say that $90k for this car is all the money, and then some, unless the seller can pony up a bunch of paperwork showing that the car has been loved and cared for. Definitely get a PPI before clicking that button. Take care, DrTax
i'd say thats about right where the car should be. has what i consider high miles, it's yellow and it's a euro car. even less if there is accident history and no paperwork etc. banana boat had his very nice 00 yellow/black for sale for quite some time. i believe it had less than 10k miles, fully serviced etc and was being offered for sale at $125k. now it finally sold after some time and i don't know for how much but it would not have suprised me for up to $10k less than what he was asking when i was said and done with consigment fees, negotiation, etc.
