.. is there somewhere else to list parts on Fchat??

This tubi exhaust was removed after about $2,300 or so miles because the second owner prefers the quieter stock exhaust. Anyone interested, its on eBay for 2 more days @ $1,000.00 Sounds like a fair price.

Yes, try FERRARIADS to list stuff like this...

Also, there is someone right in your area who recently acquired a 2000 TDF Blue 550 Maranello... He traded in his yellow Testarossa on the deal.

Thanks. Stupid me. Placed the ad on ferrariads.

Well if you are talking to your friend with the blue Maranello tell him about the ebay ad, if you think it might interest him. Once its on ebay I don't know how to take it off...2 more days before end of auction.

    Thanks,

    Sandy

Peter: Bruce did the right thing and got a cargraphic exhaust.

Sandy: try FerrariAds.com. Sounds like a great price for whomever wants it.

FWIW, I strongly advise against pre-2002 550/575 Tubis, they are unbearably loud inside the car from idle to 2000rpm. Unless you already have an IV of Advil installed in your car ...

Shark: this was something of discussion. I'm not sure that it's pre 2002, although there was thought that they changed the design slightly. Doody had a pre 2002 that caused him headaches, so he took off, and then later installed it and made sure it was secured properly and he was fine afterwards.

Think I just bought this Testarossa from my dealer in Springfield, MO. Fabulous car! It is near perfect. Had the front splitter, side rocker panel and rear bumper painted body color and it really look fantastic - totally different animal. Will post pictures if anyone is interested. Traded my 1989 328 which I had just purchase 3 months ago on this vehicle. The Testarossa has so much more power and is much more pleasent to drive to my liking. Left Springfield and drove through some very impressive twisties along the lakes in southwest MO on the way home. Over about 50 miles there were only 2 steches which were longer than 1/2 mile, the rest were posted 30-40 mile per hour corners. Has a permagrin on my face the hole way. The Testarossa really performed well through these roads. I'm sold. Would love to thank the previous caretaker for a well preserved auto.

No legend, Tubistyle did change the design in Jan 02 at the occasion of the 575 launch and after accepting a recall/exchange in some countries because of disgruntled customers. This is at least what the head of sales in France told me. I drove a pre-2002 equipped car and it was unbearably loud at idle, mine is post-02 and is just shy of being too loud between 1500 and 2000 rpm.

Maybe Doody got deaf with age ? :)

I don't, but next time I'm near the car I can call you so you can hear it. Norman's got one on his 360 too.

I believe someone once said that if it is too loud you are too old - but may have been in a different context.

Don't have it, so you'll have to send it. I'll likely stop by to check on the car this week.
