my 1999 550 had the left side flashers on when I got to the car this morning. The key was removed but the alarm was not armed. I just tried disconnecting the battery and no luck. anyone have any ideas?

It sounds like you have a contact problem with the switch in the collum. Try taking the collum cover appart and make sure that the mechanism isn't loose.

Do you have the red key fob? I believethat it is used to reset the alarm system. There should be a section in the owners manual on how to reset the alarm with the red key fob.

Over by the battery in the inside fenderwell is the inertia switch (black square block mounted to the firewall), try pressing in on the reset button or unplug it and see if the light stops. If it does, you need to replace the switch.
