    The way he describes this "race" reminds me of Austin Powers #1 when Dr. Evil's son Scott is describing the gnarley time that they had at the bar and he's talking so fast and with such slang, Dr. Evil has no idea what the kid is trying to say.

    Ferrari has always built different cars that meet different needs of their clients and I would not want to put any age restriction on any of them. They have done this since their inception almost 50+ years ago.

    Most people who are not familiar with their real history simply think that Ferrari is all about excotics and sports cars, unfortunately that is only a limited view of what Ferrari is all about.

    For example
    CY2004
    612 = 2+2 but could also be called a GT
    360 = sports car
    360 NGT and 575 GTC = race car
    F1 = single seater
    575 = GT car...to heavy for a real sports car IMHO
    360 CS = sports car verging on race car
    Enzo = exotic

    CY1980's
    412 = 2+2, again could be called a GT
    308 = sports car
    Mondial = 2+2 as well as mild sports car
    Testarossa = GT
    F1 = single seater
    512 BB series = exotic

    CY 1970's
    365 GT = 2+2 again could be called a GT
    246 GT series =sports car
    308 = sports car
    308GT4 = 2+2 as well as sports car
    Daytona = GT
    365BB and 512 exotic
    F1 = single seater
    Not to mention the few cars that are real racers based on the GT and sports cars such as the 365GTB4 racers, Daytona and 308 series racers

    You can do this for every decade except the 40's.

    All of these cars have slightly different advantages and disadvantages and different reasons on why people buy them and lover them.

    Of course this is all just my opinion.

    Now to add a little gas to the fire....When I go head to head with a friend of mine who has a 355 Spider w/Tubi, all be it straight line, my 456 GT six speed w/tubi, eats him alive.

    He is a little quicker to 30 MPH, maybe half a car, but once the 442 ponies with all the torque kicks in it's bye bye :)

    JPL, just out of curiosity, what criteria are you using to differentiate a GT from a sports car? Is it simply weight and/or size?

    I guess a little bit of both. Once a car gets over 3200lbs it stops being tossable or in my opinion a sports car...of course that is just my opinion. Even my Miata is more of a sports car than my 308. Of course if you ask 100 people what a sports car is you will probably get 100 different answers.

    I like to think of my Miata as my sports car and my 308 as my exotic.

    It's not easy to find great sports cars anymore....most of them that are lablelled by the media as sports cars are much to heavy. Colin had it right.....don't add HP.....reduce the weight.

    First of all sorry I couldn't check in earlier.
    Second I did not mean to offend anyone.
    Third this did not happen on open road and there was some traffic to get around. Which was my case. The 355, you can go left and right 5 lanes way quicker then the 550 period. I never said on the open road the 355 is faster. I have nothing against the 550. I just wish they were 2+2( I think it's got the meanest front ever) and there was never the 456 and the 612. Instead they should have made a Murci killer. That's all.

    I swear I am gonna laugh if someone brings the hp. or the hockenhein or any other track times. Yeah because all of us drive like Schumi right. Real life where there is traffic is where I personally judge a car. Where the 355 out shines the 550. Please my supercharged Z06 will eat the 550 on the open road but given some traffic I will go with the 550 for sure. Just like I like the 355 better the 550. Hp. is not everything. Isn't that our argument against the Vipers and the Corvettes. You bring a 650hp. Viper and not alot can touch that thing on the open road but get some traffic in there I'll take the 348 over the Viper for sure.

    and you said you were in South Florida racing a 550 red car. I have a friend with one in the area. Where were you?

    I was on the turnpike going south near Boynton Beach.
    I'll post some picks, but I am having a hars time. says the file is to big. How do you change the size of pics. Besise if there is enough traffic the 355 or the 550 will make the Lambo look stupid. The Diablo is an open road car I really like to see the Lambo trying to move around cars in traffic.

    I can drive my Diablo just as easily through traffic as i can my 355, actually even easier, since it has the power to barrel through gaps much quicker.

    I cant believe you have resorted to argueing about traffic racing.

    Ill give you the win on this, since thats something i dont do. Im not interested in wrecking my car, hurting myself or others.

    morning chatters,

    found some Fiorano lap records:
    1'34"00 was the tracktime for a F355 (1994).
    3 years later the 550 Maranello reached exactly the same time (1'34"00).
    Funny 1:0 for the F355 as the older car :)

    No way you really think that is or was Allan. Allan usually has very good grammar and is half-assed good at spelling for a forum board. That troll writes like a tard. While I admit he is fairly crude to some people, he usually will show a video of said ass whipping. I'm not swinging from his nuts or anything, but you should take off the darth helmet, the lenses are obscuring your vision....

  23. The Diablo would win hands down, As for traffic racing I always back down to people like that. Its not worth causing an accident over if you want something like traffic racing. Go to a track it will give you even more joy then traffic racing.
