550 Windshield Seal

Thanks to everyone for their help finding a windshield for my 550. I located one at Ricambi for about $2500. However I am unsure whether I need to buy a new windshield seal or whether I can reuse the original seal. The guy at Ricambi seemed to think that I could reuse the original as long as it is not distorted while removing the original windshield. A new seal is about Does anyone happen to know? Thanks, Bill
