Question for the forum. Was out driving yesterday morning and got stuck in the rain in the 550. No big deal, except for the fact that my wipers failed to work. At first, only the delayed mode was not working, but both low and high continous modes were working fine. As I started switching between settings using the steering stalk, I lost the low continous and then also the high continous modes. I hear a sound as I switch indicating there is some response from the stalk. No more wipers for the rest of the 20 min drive home on the highway. Got home, and played with the stalk, switching the wipers on and off and every 10th time or so of trying I was able to cause the wipers to fire on the high continous mode. Also, the washer mode doesnt fire the windshield washers or the wipers. Has anyone else encountered this problem? It doesnt seem like a fuse probelem (which I assume would be all or none) or a wiper motor problem. I figured it might be a faulty switch in the stalk. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks. Omar

Pretty much exact same thing happened in my 308 today when I got stuck in the rain. Description of wiper activity (or lack thereof) matches yours nearly verbatim...

Anyone? I've run a search and come across the thread describing access to the wiper motor from the front driver-side wheel well... I'll search a bit more, just thought I'd resurrect this thread for Omar and my benefit.

Omar, did you get this problem sorted in your 550?

    Cheers,
    J.
