Apparently the original owner wanted what amounts to a WSR in non-WSR colors. I wish I could find a WSR for sale in the US.
I have asked the seller if the WSR options are factory delivered. In that case it could still be an interesting car. He has not replied yet. I would change the steering wheel and the exhaust though.
Reading through the threads I realized that we are talking about this car. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=291146 I asked FASS about some more information and why he is selling.
Quite cool indeed! This one wasn't a WSR but a 1999 550 with an added fuel cell which was driven from midtown Manhattan to the Portofino Inn and Yacht Club in Redondo Beach, California in 31:59 covering 2,811 miles at an average speed of 87.6 MPH in May 2007. http://www.torque.tv/index.php?_page=1.bW9kdWxlPW5ld3MmdGFzaz1nZXRpdGVtJnBvc3RfaWQ9MTM=# Image Unavailable, Please Login
I contacted the seller and received a reply from an anonymous yahoo mail address without a name or a phonenumber. Not sure where to go from here. The guy states that it is a one-off WSR, but I don't think that is true. It is a regular 550 which was ordered with some of the WSR specs. I will try to PM the owner (FASS) once more.
Of the 33 made, I can only account for 14; and while I don't have FASS' car identified as a WSR car, that doesn't mean it's not. There are World Speed Record edition Maranellos built in liveries other than Grigio/Bordeaux.
Hi Carbon, Are you sure about that? I can only find information about WSR 550's in Titanium and rosso. Do you know the VIN of the official WSR 550's?
Hi, Ton... There were 33 made total (10 of which were RHD). Of those 33, I have only 14 serial numbers. And while a majority of them are Grigio/Bordeaux, there are confirmed WSR Maranellos in other colors (Giallo Modena, Rosso Corsa, Pozzi, etc.).
That is very interesting. The question is however if these other colored Maranello's are true WSR's or custom-ordered 550's with a bunch of WSR spec's.
Ferrari's official web site does not mention colors of the WSR cars at all. It does say they were built in 1999, so if a car is post-1999 I guess it could be assumed not to be a "factory" WSR, but a later car to WSR spec. Marshall Field owned such a car, 114641. It was a standard US version 1999, but retro-fitted to WSR spec. It was sold by Michael Sheehan in 2003. Anyone know its whereabouts now? Jack.
Right, Bill. The only problem they had with the car was when they threw a windshield wiper when it started raining just after getting out of the Lincoln Tunnel. Barry
Ferrari says the blue 550 with the WSR pack is a normal 550. Still very nice, but not worth a premium of 10-15k euro imho. Pity though. I would love to own a real WSR.
I think the VN is 113179 ! 550 Maranello dark Blue/crema ZFFZR49B000113179 black & crema dashboard bordeaux steering wheel !
I am particularly interested in this thread as my car seems to be a pre-WSR car. My car is a F550 Maranello-98 ("Schumacher Edition"): Colour: Rosso Corsa. Interior: Grigio leather. Equipment: Racing seats(large) carbon fibre interior, four point harnesses, fire extinguisher , Fiorina Handling package, stiffer shock absorbers, Leather roll cage , Daytona hat rack, CD, , Sport exhaust etc. The story goes that Mr. Schu ordered a 550 in 98 with the exact same spec. He was very particular about the way he wanted the 550 to perform. Apparently, Ferrari had no such kit available so he tailor-made his car. The number of cars ordered in the same outfit, due to rumours of Michaels demand, is unsure, but is estimated to 8-12 cars worldwide. Mine is the only one in Scandinavia. I would love to know more about this car and if someone at this forum has one. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Hi Patrik, great car you have there! I am Norwegian and lives in Oslo and Stockholm. I am searching for a dark blu with crema interior 550 now. I just wonder if you have ever seen one in Sweden?? Or anyone elsewhere in Europe...? It must be crema interior and Blu Le Mans, TdF or Pozzi and in a proper condition. Thanks!! Erik Eriksen
FBB- Even Carbon only has a few. There must be 20 out there we do not have documented. Might have to ask Ferrari for a list.
