I need help from the experts. How do I remove the O2 sensor? What do I need to disassemble to get to it? Please help... Thanks. Milton
Just went through this. This is from memory, and the car's not here, so forgive any errors. Jack up the car, put it on jack stands Get underneath and remove the rear undertray -- about 8 10mm bolts The O2 sensor is the big thing plugged into the top side of the exhaust pipe at the inlet of the cat. It's on the passenger side. Just unscrew it. The wires (on mine) had some zip ties on them. Up top, take off the air box. At the rear corner of the engine compartment, there will be a connector with a green wire and a two-wire connector. That's the upper end of the O2 sensor wire. Uplug, and drop through to the bottom. You can buy a replacement sensor at O Reilly auto parts, kinda pricey. See this thread for an illustration
Tillman, Thanks a bunch for the instructions, I'll get to it this afternoon. I'll be taking pictures of the procedure, and will write detailed instructions. I anyone is interested, let me know, and I'll post it or email direct to you. Thanks. Milton
I'd like to see, as I'll be doing this next week sometime.....post or PM me your pics/instructions. I have an 84 QV, you'd be surprised how much is the same with your 328.
Tillman's instructions were perfect. So I am not editing them. I would like to add another O2 source, the 1987 328 uses Bosch #13957, it can be found at Checker Auto - $144.99. Here are the photos of the entire procedure. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
