Cruizing to Colby, Everett Washington, May 31st. The weather wasn't great but it didn't rain. Lots of great cars and and wall to wall crowds later in the day. Because Robert's and my own interest in cars of many types we had a good time. Great way to spend the day, contribute to charity and share a little about our cars. Take note that the old guy next to the Model T pickup is my dad and it is just like the one he drove in college. Can't help smilin when there's all those beautiful cars to look at. Specially when you see a T-Bone like the one that I drove in high school in 1943. The only difference was that mine had a wicker rocking chair bolted down in the bed in back. Boy if that wasn't a chick magnet !! Paid 25 bucks for that car and with gas rationing in full swing we burned everything from kerosene to cleaning fluid in it. Of course we NEVER siphoned gas from anybody, that was a Federal Offense then too. But we didn't bother about that anymore than we did about a real license plate either. Great days.
Great stuff, Dana, I liked the model T the best because of the distinguished looking elderly ol' fop standing next to it. Dad
Oh yeah, lots of memories of those cars from the earlier days. The black and maroon Buick, the 48 Lincoln, Model T. I'll do the same thing 30 years from now when I see a 240Z, 68 GTO, Hemi Charger, Oldslow308, Testarossa, 360 Spyder...........................
The little kids working on the engine was a great idea! Funny as hell! They are usually placed in front of the cars against the bumpers, face in their arms, like they were pouting. Send the little brats home! I think the poster idea is good but I'll need something better than the Fujifilm 1.2 megapixel I'm using now. Prices are coming down..............
That was an oridinal custom from '60 or '61. I thought it was a Barris at first but he couldn't confirm it. A basket case when he bought it. It looks better in person.
There was a very good Elvis impersonator there as well as a Marylin Monroe. No lipsync either. Sounded great!
