I am working on the car and considering changing my tweeters. The WSM dash removal steps say to remove the tunnel cover.
    Is that necessary?
I removed the dome section already,.

    The answer is yes.

here is a tip for removing/installing the dome section. Loosen well but do not remove screws 7, 8, 9, and two of the three 10. The screw 10 on the left needs to be removed

then lift the dome section off the two black pegs near windshield

then you can remove the bolts and affix a small o-ring (008) to hold washer against bolt head and reinstall bolts

well I got to the point of removing the dash and discovered that the front air duct is riveted to the dash, not screwed on per WSM. So I decided not to continue to replace tweeters, and now put it all back together.

    Per WSM
To remove the windscreen air duct (C) it is recommended that you first remove the two air ducts as previously
    described.
    • Subsequently unfasten the screws indicated by the arrow in Fig. 3 and slide the component out from its seat.

yes but 575 is different and the WSM is sufficient.

I am now putting it all back together and finding some parts need replacement, like fir tree clips.
