Ha, I was about to post this...funnily enough I was watching one of your youtubes just this morning providing the correct noise! This is reasonably close to what I want to do with a 550, no huge wing and no sidepipes/extreme fenders...Think 360Trev's CS but as a 550. And of course proper headers and massage the engine
SUPER cool car. But it's rolling on stock brakes and narrower tires than the standard body can fit . . . so it seems built more for show than go.
Agree...several things I wouldn't have done on that build. Whilst the 18'' are that size because it's ideal for the racing, as a street car it should wear an inch larger so it fills out those massive arches. Wider rims, too...I'd go with 430/458 Challenge brakes to fill out the breaks and get better performance. Interior, with leather and a bit lazy. Engine left completely stock. And lets be honest, the prodrive 550 was far more elegant. Not knocking the build...but several things I'd do completely different.
I was just thinking the exact same thing. It’s a gorgeous interpretation of a 575 homologation, but why wouldn’t any pictures of the engine be shown? If it were me, big brakes, Fabio’s headers, go-flow ECU flash, and a gated conversion. Aside from the $1m-4m Prodrive cars, I don’t think anyone will outdo Mark Wang’s 550 built by Garagesaurus, and I believe his car has their equal length headers too.
I followed this project closely when Saurus had their Yahoo blog. I wasn't a fan of the bolted on overfenders and it's edged too much to track car to be enjoyable on the road, but overall that car would be miles faster than the GTC Stradale. The Saurus bodywork (minus overfenders) is stunning as well. My collection of images of this build is substantial...a lot of inspriration for me.
