Has anybody got tips for the replacement of the headlamp seal strips? I found mention of the double sided tape and problems with size and tackiness, but nothing further. Grateful for any words of wisdom from somebody who has done this themselves!

    Thanks

    Simon,

It's a very simple and straight forward installation. I recommend fully removing both headlights and doing it off the car. Just take your time.

Simon, Bradan's advice is good, remove the headlights.
Some of the following thoughts may be basic.
Start by taking digital pics of your headlight assemblies from all angles, capturing the way they fit, the attaching brackets and bolts involved. Then notate the size of the bolts (only two different sizes) as they are removed and tape them to, or bag them with each respective bracket. Maybe do one assembly at a time using the other as a guide for reassembly. The HL assembly comes out easily, then the removal and reinstall of the gaskets is very straight forward.
Next, remove the old gaskets and clean the residual adhesive left on the HL assembly. Think I used a little denatured alcohol to do this job but strongly recommend whatever you use, test a small area first in a low visibility area and stay away from the top surface of the HL's. In the end with this step you need to be sure that the contact surface is clean of wax, adhesive or dirt for good adhesion.
The key to this job is finding good double sided tape. If your gaskets show any signs of age at all, I'd recommend biting the bullet and buying new ones. Then it's just peel and stick.
If your old ones are to be reused. It's going to be difficult to remove the old adhesive from them, they are fragile pieces of rubber and the old adhesive on them is mostly rock hard. You do what you can here.
I applied the tape to the headlights first and then attached the gaskets.
Feel free to post questions if anything was missed here.

... the one word of caution I'd offer is this: The gaskets from Ferrari arrive crammed into silly boxes. The peel-n-stick is oftentimes starting to already fall apart on brand new gaskets. Use some additional (appropriate) adhesive when installing the new rubbers, so they have a chance of lasting a wee bit longer.
