Hi All, Is it worth the extra premium to wait until a 575 HGTC comes available, or just get a 575 with FHP and add carbon brakes to it? I understand that the factory HGTC is 1/100 and will have the pedigree, but is it worth the premium over a regular car? Feedback appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have to say I tend to agree with Jimmie - in my mind if you want an HGTC and it comes with carbon brakes, not the other way round. That is, buy the car for its rarity, not the brakes. I have carbon brakes on one of my other cars, not sure I’d consider them necessary or even the best brake upgrade though they do look nice and keep clean! There are endless debates on steel vs carbon, pads etc from others far more qualified than me! Good luck with your search John

HGTC premium is definitely worth the money since there are many, many additions besides the CCMs. We have owners who have upgraded their brakes to CCMs with an HGTC upgrade kit (no longer available), and one who got his CCMs and other HGTC parts off a wrecked HGTC from Australia. I even got a CF trim piece off the same HGTC, which had CF trim, too. My brakes are an upgrade from the CCMs from Mov'It with larger pads and better rotor transforms, but very expensive. Advantages of CCMs are no brake dust, no squealing, and improved braking. They look much better, too, but you need 19" wheels that can handle the 6 piston calipers and 398 mm rotors on the front. No sweat with the 360 mm rotors and 4 pistons in the rear. Ferrari increased the size of the interior of the modular wheel to accept CCMs. My Mov'Its work well cold or hot, never any squeal, no brake dust, and brake even better than CCMs with their larger proprietary Pagid pads. Trying to add CCMs new to a 575M would be prohibitively expensive now, if you could even find the parts. The front wheels are NLA, too.

While CCB are fantastic it would make more sense to do a Brembo GT 6 piston system. Significantly cheaper, outstanding performance and part availability.
Definitely this - if you get a genuine 575HGTC, the CCM brakes come with it - so, OK... But otherwise it's not worth getting them. The best part of the HGTC kit is not on the brakes, but mostly on the suspension (to make it simple, correcting the excessive softness of the standard set up). On my 575 I had the HGTC kit installed without the brakes, and the brakes upgraded with Brembo 6-piston front / 4-piston rear. It was a very strong improvement for track use.
575M suspension varies widely with date of manufacture and shock ECU fitted. Big difference between a 2002 with shock ECU 183960 and a 2004 with the steering position sensor and updated shock ECU.
