Race seats but no FHP? Is that a stiletto mark in the passenger seat?

I don't want to talk about it.

From what I know about Rod Stewart, the latter seems more likely.

Actually I had him down as a Lamborghini man.

Meanwhile this car was too expensive last year..now it sounds like the owner really wants to sell. But the specification will make it a tough one, I suspect. A lot of people just won't look at it.

While obviously a closer inspection of the two cars might reveal other differences in the quality of the vehicles, and asking prices will also reflect the aspirations of the owners, not necessarily the dealer's opinion of value, on the basis of the two advertisements, it is interesting to note the difference in price between a yellow car with 24,000 miles and a dark grey car with 13,000 miles which, at £60K, seems a lot to me.

It is also interesting to note the difference between a dark grey 575 with 13,000 miles and a dark grey Superamerica with 20,000 miles, which, at £120K is not as much as I would have expected.

It is also interesting to note that a 550 with 23,000 miles is priced at only £15K less than a 575 with 24,000 miles, albeit that red is rather less controversial than yellow.

I guess it is down to the premium put on low mileage, and the difficulty in finding a buyer for a yellow Maranello. Were it a mid-engined car, I imagine that yellow would not be a problem.

As a PS to the above, the discount for LHD in the UK seems to be very harsh when a 33,000 mile LHD car is priced below a RHD car with 93,000 miles. Both 550s, of course - sorry, I am straying off topic. :(

I believe that you are bank on the money John when you suggest that asking prices at Sale Or Return ("SOR") / consignment sale outfits like Slades simply reflect the aspirations of the underlying owners.

Auctions can produce interesting results but at the end of the day, the auction industry is primarily there to support the trade and those who simply need the liquidity.

To be honest they are not narrow cars and LHD in the UK was sometimes challenging.
Great for a European driving holiday though....

No idea I'm afraid, sold through DK and I didn't ask for the nationality of the buyer.
Would make sense for it to do so though, pound was pretty low versus the euro at the time of sale.

In the absence of Mogulboy (come back, Mogulboy!) and his up to date updates, here's a couple of market observations.

The giallo Clapton 575 manual which was up for 250k GBP last year and then looked like fire sale price of 190k last month, has sold, apparently.

Meanwhile the Octane magazine featured TDF on beige 575 manual FHP with 42k miles is now up for sale with Speedmaster for 225k GBP. Which I find optimistic.

    https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/ferrari/575/ferrari-575m-maranello-manual/7242177

For me this is a 190k car right now. And the 575 badge on the boot is plainly in the wrong place which is both irritating and worrying - if they got that wrong, what else did they do wrong? That may just be me.

And I just thought it was worth quoting the first post in this thread, back in August 2015 so 22 months ago, when I noted that a manual TDF 575 with 14k miles sold at an ask of 145k GBP. That car now would ask at least 245k GBP and it would fly off the shelves immediately at 205k.

Just in case anyone mentions the market has gone flat..it has, or maybe not..By my reckoning up 30 per cent at least in 2 years for these cars, and possibly closer to 50 per cent.

JUST FYI in case anyone wants her - prefer an enthusiast.

Sad day but prudence requires am too long cars and have two others in pipeline.

    Hope everybody is well.

Folks be careful in current market, just sold my 575 at what I paid for it in 2015. It has gone up £70k trade and back down.

Not a bad result two years free motoring but market for "modern classics" very weak in U.K.

Specialists keen on the car which is mint but main dealers nervous as their 355/550/430 stock is off 25% and they have forgotten cars depreciate after years of stable or rising values.

Mine just sold for close to £120k asking price.
    2001 LHD 550 16k miles 2 owner Blu Scuro/Sabbia
FFSH etc. Pretty much as good as it gets.
It's going back to mainland Europe.

Just to add that on my 550 sale, the best outright trade bid was substantially less than £120k. So, unless you're in a desperate need for cash, a consignment sale might be the best way forward.

Echoes what I saw, trade bids were in some cases horrible. Eventually did OK on a matched deal through Slades (excellent service no messing about). Good deal for both parties.

As I noted I think that dealers have got used to stable or rising values on stock and have lost risk appetite as market re-settles.

Piers, although this is technically a 575 manual thread as Scraggy said, I can't resist asking - how did you sell your 550? On consignment through a UK specialist?

It was via consignment with Millennium Heroes | Performance and Luxury Car Sales

Their website presentation is un-matched IMHO. In a market with a lot of stock on offer (there are 50+ 550's on Pistonheads at moment) and few buyers, you've got to stand out to have a chance.

Had a the same experience but from the buyers side. Having refused to pay a big premium for a RHD manual 575, I sat on my hands for a year, and now I have 2 dealers calling me for a bid. We are back to 2015 if not further. Only question is whether to wait out this year's miss this year's driving season and buy one in the winter.

Barry- Nice thing is that the percentage of UK RHD 3 pedal 575Ms (27.5%) is a lot higher than for the rest of the world (9.8%).

Good to know! I have had an eye on a nice UK example with the handling pack but the market seems pretty weak, so don't want to catch a falling knife.

I sold my manual 430 spider a couple of months back - after 7 1/2 happy years - and I can tell you, it was a struggle. Part of the problem is that the manual cars got a bit too hyped up here, and then no one wants to touch them on the way down.
