While backing up a steep uphill neighbor's driveway the clutch slipped into neutral and the car started down the driveway at a rapid pace.Stopped in time buit it was scarey for a few seconds.
Called the service mgr who said he had a few 575's with an "actuator" problem and the system may need to be bled.Have an appt next tues.
    Anybody have a similar problem?

More likely you overheated the clutch and the ECU self protected it.

SD2 will show "clutch overheat" time period

At least on V8s there isn't much torque to fry clutches in such manoeuvering(although 360's are said to be pretty good at it), but on a beast like a 575 where anything beyond idle is more than enough to roast the clutch, I would not be overly surprised to see such issues happening.
Any stories about 575 F1 eating clutches ?
    Anyone has changed a clutch on a 550 ?

    No problems until now.
Martin, how many miles has your 575 run until now? I assume you have an F1 gearbox?

Ecu showed zero problems with the clutch. It seems the F1 in the 575 does not like to be backed up a steep incline????
Good news is that the clutch is 21% gone after 6800 mi-not bad after all those horror stories.

the clutch wear reading is not to be taken seriously at all.

It can be made to read anything if you mess with the settings.......I've set 360C to show 125% wear.....and they work perfectly....go figure

Did you open the door to see the back when you're reversing? The F1 gearbox goes into neutral when the gas is applied with the door dpen. Just to remind you...
