Hi, I’m looking to replace my vertical sensors part 183957 but when I checked it got replaced by 232676 which said to be lateral. To my understanding it is suppose to be vertical because it is located at the arms where it move up/down. Can anyone suggest me with the right parts? Could it be that the sensors are interchangeable and the mounting of the sensor determines if it is lateral or vertical? If you look at the parts catalogue, the part number seems to relate to both the bracket and the sensor. If the bracket was ok, then only the (universal?) sensor needed to be replaced.
So what you are saying is that both vertical and lateral sensors can be interchangeable but will need to mount differently? I thought g force on vertical will be much more on the bumpy roads but i might be wrong. Best
Just a theory The original parts have been superseded (replaced). Perhaps the newer part has a greater range of acceleration?
