I'm installing a Becker Grand Prix in my 575, replacing the 2004 factory unit. The HU itself is easy, straight swap, but can anyone recommend a way to route the microphone to the A pillar? The wire comes out the back of the head unit, under the dash up to the edge of the drivers compartment. But from there I cant see where to take it up the pillar as there are no gaps. I dont want to get into cutting or drilling, would rather not install in that case.

    Any help with this appreciated.

The interior side pillar can be removed in order to route your microphone cable.

A recommendation for your mic placement - pull it all the way up to the headliner and over to the center light console. Then place it on the driver's side edge of the light console, just out of the way of the sun visor (masure sure the sun visor can still swing up and down). I stuck mine there using two sided tape. The sound pick-up will be better than placing it near the a-pillar and so little of it is visible no one will realize its even there.

Thanks Rob, did you route the wire yourself?

I did not, can't help you with the a-pillar removal. However on other cars I found that I was able to route the wire without removing the a-pillar, just stuffed it behind the trim using a credit card. For the headliner, removing the screws that hold the sunvisors should give enough space to slide the wire under there.

Did you use a Black Centurion card or (just) a regular one? :)

    Sorry, had to! :):)
