Chris, I'm getting more and more pessimistic about the prospects for this car. I asked one of the Ferrari folks in the NYC showroom about it, and got a pretty negative answer, homolgation issues, etc.

If they make it, I'll save a spot in line for you outside FoW - right behind me! ;)

It's great to see italiaspeed still talking about the car, gives me hope.

I had pretty much given up hope as well but this article has given me a reason to be optimistic again. I've been considering getting a 575 w/ the GTC handling package but a 575 Stradale would be more to my liking. Be sure to save that spot for me!

    Regards,
    Chris

Agreed, I thought the GTC was going to fill this role of the "hot" version of the 575. Italiaspeed is the only place I have seen this rumor, but they did get the scoup on the Superamerica, so maybe they know what they are talking about?

I don't think they will make a stradale version of all models. The Stradale has to be (and stay) a special car. If Ferrari will make a 575 Stradale it loses it's speciality.

I would not be surprise if they make it. Usually italiaspeed.com are very accurate on predicting new Ferrari models.

What Ferrari has to do for this new 575....
Give it the looks of the 575 GTC(race car). That means special racing wheels, spoiler and the car must be very lightweight (it should have the same kind of interior as the 360 CS) and the car must be louder(like the 360 CS).

And it would be named the 575 GTC Stradale. ;)

I had the same thought, even wondered how close Ferrari would let me get to a one-off 575 GTC Stradale - how much weight could be stripped from the car on request.

Why do you say that? If the situation were the other way around, people would undoubtedly say the same of the 360. Both groups are wrong as I see it, a Stradale is special because it is a Stradale. A stripped down, light weight v-12 would be a wonderful thing.

Not gonna happen....Italspeed has been saying this for months with no proof. Ferraris last hurah for the Maranello is the Super America. The replacement comes out in about a year, so they won't waste their time. Plus IMO the Maranello doesn't lend itself to a Stradale version, it's more of a high speed highway car if you ask me, it needs all the options....

    I don't know...
I still think they will make the 575 Stradale. The 575 replacement will only arrive late 2005/early 2006. With the 575 Superamerica expected to make its debut at the 2005 Detroit Motor show, what else as Ferrari planned to release in 2005?
I'm saying either the 575 Stradale or 430 Spider will make its debut at the 2005 Geneva auto show in March. Maybe even both.
    We shall see.

They were producing 430s and Challenge Stradales side by side on lines in Maranello, what makes you think they wouldn't produce a 575M Stradale to increase interest in the final year of production. It can't cost them too much to take out some extra stuff and add some lightweight bits.

I dont see how it is not plausible. It would help Ferrari move the last of the 575's before the new model arrives, like they did with the CS. Development costs will not be that much either.

I agree w/ you. Anyone have an idea of how often Italiaspeed has been right / wrong in the past?

That's what the 575 SA is for if you ask me, if they were planning a Stradale version I don't think they would have made a GTC package. And finally time is running out....the replacement is due in about a year and the 575 SA is months away from delivery. But a 575 Stradle would be cool I guess, but IMO it's not needed.

Personally, after having driven a Challenge Stradale, I would give my left and right nut for a Maranello Stradale. Man oh man, what a difference losing some weight makes.

If Ferrari could knock off 500 pounds and then put massive brakes on the Maranello, life could not get any better.

Ah, come on - you should have started at none, they'd open with two, then we'd split the difference.

    Hello gentlemen,

another source to quote from...EVO magazine Nov. '04 (issue 73) to be exact:

"Ferrari is also preparing a 575 Stradale. It's much like this year's 575 HGTC but even more extreme. Expect to see it at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show in March."
    Hope it's true!

Indicates that a replacement for the Maranello is going to be released in 2006, with deliveries more likely to be late '06 early '07 at best. Plenty of life left in the old girl yet.
