I've burned the millimeter layer of bubble gum off of my pirellis and need some new rubber. Tirerack.com is only showing 3 options for the 19" wheels - bridgestone re050a, pirelli rosso, and yokohama advan sport. I've seen a few posts mentioning the bridgestones but not much. anybody have any experience with the bridgestones or yokohamas? any options that tirerack may not have?
Stay away from PS2's. The Maranello is too heavy for it's sidewall to perform right IMO. I'm pretty happy with the Rosso's.
I went through two sets of rossos on my 04 575 in approximately 12,000 miles. I recently switched to the advans and have been quite happy. After 6K miles they still have quite a bit of life left and I have been very pleased with the handling characteristics.
I eventually chose the advans as well thinking that, if they sucked, I would just turn off traction control for a bit and burn them off! the yokohama advan rep actually came out to the shop (gran turismo, atlanta) to talk to me about them when they were going on and take some pictures. guessing they haven't sold many in this size! I've been very pleased with them so far but haven't put much on them. so far so good. glad to hear they last a bit.
